Former President Ram Nath Kovind unveiled the Responsible Nations Index (RNI) on Monday, marking a significant step in evaluating countries' moral governance. This first-of-its-kind index examines how nations exercise power ethically concerning their citizens, the global community, and the environment.
Developed by the World Intellectual Foundation in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University and validated by the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai, the RNI introduces a comprehensive evaluative framework focusing on responsibility rather than power dynamics. It aims to promote sustainable and ethical governance on a global scale.
Sudhanshu Mittal, the Founder of the World Intellectual Foundation, emphasized the necessity of ethical governance and humane development. He stated that prosperity without responsibility is unsustainable, and the RNI encourages nations to reflect on their moral and environmental duties, fostering global stewardship and responsible leadership.
