Three district courts in Chhattisgarh were targeted with bomb threats through anonymous emails on Wednesday, leading to the evacuation of the premises as police launched thorough security searches, officials reported.
Previously, on January 8, district courts in Rajnandgaon, Durg, and Bilaspur also received similar bomb threats in emails, which were later found to be hoaxes after extensive searches.
This Wednesday, threat emails targeted the Rajnandgaon, Ambikapur, and Jagdalpur courts, triggering high alert across the police and administration. Police dispatched bomb disposal and dog squads to the Rajnandgaon court following an email received around 10 am. Despite intensive searches, no explosives were found, and investigations to trace the email source are ongoing.
