Momo Racket: Arrests Made in Rs 85 Lakh Jewellery Heist

In a striking turn of events, police have arrested two individuals and detained a minor implicated in a jewellery heist in Rampur Karkhana. The minor, a Class 7 student, was reportedly manipulated into surrendering jewellery worth Rs 85 lakh for momos, according to police officials.
The accused, identified as Rakesh, Leelawati, and a juvenile, were apprehended after a tip-off led authorities to their location near Dumri Tiraha. The operation uncovered several gold and silver ornaments, thanks to disclosures made during police questioning, officials confirmed.
Police have registered an FIR based on a complaint by Vimlesh Mishra, whose son was allegedly involved. The student confessed to handing over the jewellery, revealing a troubling scheme driven by cravings for food. Further investigations continue as police aim to recover remaining items and identify others involved.
