Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather was forced to adjourn the session for 15 minutes after several ruling coalition members, mostly representing Rajouri and Poonch districts, vociferously demanded an apology from Sharma. These members, alongside Congress legislator Iftikhar Ahmad, took issue with statements made by Sharma denying the existence of Pir Panjal, sparking intense backlash.

The session saw legislators from opposing parties clashing verbally, with slogans of 'Inqilab Zindabad' and 'Pir Panjal Zindabad' from ruling members, countered by 'Vande Bharat' and 'Hindustan Zindabad' from BJP counterparts. Amidst the chaos, calls for Sharma to make amends were reiterated, emphasizing the need to honor the people of Pir Panjal who have historically defended India's borders.
