Five individuals were apprehended following an alleged attack on NSUI Udupi vice-president, Sharath Kundar, last month in Manipal, officials reported. The assault, which reportedly occurred during a dispute at a local hotel, later intensified at PPC Cross, resulting in a police case.
The Udupi City Police traced and arrested the suspects, identified as Akshath Pai, Sushanth, Ramananda Pai, Santosh Koraga, and Shashank Nayak. Law enforcement recovered a car and three mobile phones, valued at a total of Rs 8 lakh, believed to have been utilized in the criminal activity.
Authorities took swift action under the relevant legal sections, aiming to deliver justice in the altercation that has caught local and political attention due to the involvement of NSUI's vice-president.
