In a significant breakthrough, Pratapgarh Police have dismantled an alleged interstate drug manufacturing network. Operating from a discreet hut in a field, the unit was raided on Saturday, yielding mephedrone worth approximately Rs 1.60 crore.
The raid, commanded by SP B Aditya and carried out by the Hathuniya police team, led to the arrest of Murad Khan Pathan, 28, from Pratapgarh, and Mohammad Junaid, 48, from Gujarat. Two other involved individuals managed to evade capture.
Police uncovered a makeshift lab with necessary drug production equipment, including an induction cooker and electronic scales. The operation is suspected to have been running for two days, with links to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. A firearm and trafficking vehicles were also confiscated, and further investigatory action is underway.
