A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited the native village of a NEET aspirant in Jehanabad district on Sunday, who died under suspicious circumstances in Patna last month. The incident has triggered a political controversy, prompting the state government to hand over the probe to the CBI.
The deceased student was found unconscious in a private hostel on January 6 and died five days later in a hospital. Allegations of sexual assault and a cover-up by authorities have been raised by the student's family, leading to the arrest of a hostel employee.
The CBI's ongoing investigation includes questioning the family and neighbors, searching the student's home, and analyzing the findings from Patna Police's Special Investigation Team. The agency is meticulously examining collected evidence, including belongings and DNA samples.
