In a shocking turn of events in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, a woman and her lover are accused of murdering her 35-year-old husband, a truck driver, local police reported on Monday. The crime unfolded in Madanpur Paniyar village within the Lambhua police station's jurisdiction. Following the incident, the accused woman fled with her children but was later apprehended, while efforts continue to capture her lover.

According to Sultanpur SP Charu Nigam, authorities became aware of the criminal act through a call from the victim's brother in Mumbai, who reported the death of Amit Singh. Investigations revealed that Deepak Singh, a colleague and fellow truck driver, allegedly developed a clandestine relationship with Shilpi Singh, the victim's wife. Although the affair had reportedly been settled, the duo allegedly conspired to murder Amit.

On Sunday night, Deepak stayed over at Amit's residence for Shivratri festivities. By Monday morning, he allegedly woke Shilpi before fatally attacking Amit with a sharp weapon. Following the murder, Shilpi fled with her children. Sultanpur's police forces, including special operations and surveillance units, are actively pursuing Deepak Singh, while a post-mortem awaits the arrival of the victim's brother from Mumbai.
