Ukraine has bolstered its defense capabilities with the acquisition of 4.4 million rounds of large-calibre ammunition, thanks to a collaborative effort involving Czech arms traders and international donors. President Petr Pavel, a staunch advocate for the initiative, unveiled details of the plan in an interview with a Czech news website.

The scheme, which has successfully delivered 155mm and other ammunition types to Ukraine, relies on contributions from countries like Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Despite initial reservations from Prime Minister Andrej Babis' government, the plan continues without Czech national funding.

Pavel, a former NATO official, highlighted that nearly 2 million rounds were delivered last year alone, surpassing earlier estimates. However, with commitments at 1.4 billion euros against a 5 billion euro target, further support is needed to sustain Ukraine's defense efforts.
