A shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday night in Manipur's Imphal East district when gunshots targeted Khoirom Loyalakpa, an editor for a local newspaper, according to law enforcement.
Armed assailants intercepted his vehicle near Hatta Cemetery around 10 PM, police confirmed. The attackers fired two shots, shattering the car's rear glass, before physically attacking Loyalakpa, who sustained a bloody nose.
He was promptly admitted to a local hospital for treatment and later discharged. Authorities have registered a case and are pursuing investigations, yet no arrests have been made, the police conveyed.
