In a significant step to strengthen Aadhaar service delivery in Jharkhand, Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth inaugurated an Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Estate Plaza in Kantatoli, Ranchi, on March 6, 2026. The new facility is designed to provide faster, transparent, and citizen-friendly Aadhaar enrolment and update services through upgraded technology and improved infrastructure.
The centre represents an important expansion of Aadhaar services in the state and aims to improve access for residents of Ranchi and surrounding districts. The day-to-day operations of the centre will be managed by Protean eGov Technologies Ltd., a key technology partner supporting UIDAI’s digital service infrastructure.
Technology-Enabled Aadhaar Services
The newly inaugurated Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra has been equipped with modern systems to streamline Aadhaar enrolment and update services, ensuring quicker processing and improved service quality.
Residents visiting the centre can avail themselves of various Aadhaar-related services including new enrolments, demographic updates, biometric updates, and Aadhaar-related assistance. The improved infrastructure is expected to reduce waiting time and enhance overall efficiency in service delivery.
Officials noted that the centre has been designed with a strong focus on transparency, digital processing, and user convenience, aligning with the Government’s broader digital governance initiatives.
Expansion of Aadhaar Centres Across Jharkhand
Until now, dedicated UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendras in Jharkhand were available only in three districts—Ranchi, Dhanbad, and East Singhbhum. With the new expansion plan, Aadhaar services will be significantly strengthened across the state.
In addition to the existing centres, new Aadhaar Seva Kendras will be established in several districts in a phased manner, including:

Hazaribagh
-
Giridih
-
Deoghar
-
Godda
-
Dumka
-
Sahibganj
-
Saraikela-Kharsawan
-
West Singhbhum
-
Garhwa
-
Palamu
This expansion is expected to reduce travel time for residents and make Aadhaar services more accessible, particularly for citizens living in remote and rural areas.
Minister Highlights Importance of Aadhaar Updates for Children
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Sanjay Seth praised UIDAI’s efforts to improve Aadhaar services and strengthen public service delivery.
He highlighted that initiatives like the new Aadhaar centre help enhance transparency, efficiency, and convenience in government services. The Minister also urged parents to ensure that their children complete the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) at the age of 5 and again at 15 years.
He noted that timely biometric updates are essential for children to access government benefits such as scholarships and to avoid difficulties while registering for national entrance examinations like NEET and CUET.
Call to Schools to Support Biometric Update Campaign
Rajya Sabha Member Mahua Maji, who attended the event, also stressed the importance of completing biometric updates for children.
She encouraged parents to take proactive steps to update their children’s Aadhaar details and urged educational institutions to support UIDAI’s Mission Mode Campaign aimed at reducing the backlog of mandatory biometric updates.
Senior UIDAI officials including Deputy Director General Akhilesh Kumar Gupta and Director Neeraj Kumar from the UIDAI Regional Office in Ranchi were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Inclusive Facilities for Special Categories
The newly established Aadhaar centre has been designed to ensure inclusive access to services. Separate service counters have been set up for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and pregnant women to ensure faster and more comfortable service.
In addition, the facility includes a feeding room for breastfeeding mothers, reflecting the government’s focus on citizen-centric infrastructure.
The centre has also introduced Birth Registration Number (BRN)-based child enrolment, enabling easier Aadhaar enrolment for newborns by linking it directly with birth registration records.
Strengthening Digital Identity Services
The inauguration of the Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Ranchi marks another step in UIDAI’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernise Aadhaar infrastructure across the country.
By combining improved infrastructure, technology-enabled services, and citizen-friendly facilities, the new centre is expected to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and inclusivity in Aadhaar service delivery across Jharkhand.
