A missile attack struck the headquarters of Ghana's United Nations peacekeeping battalion in Lebanon on Friday, critically injuring two soldiers, according to a statement from Ghana's armed forces.

This incident came as Lebanon was drawn into Middle Eastern conflict when Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel, prompting a retaliatory offensive. Ghanaian soldiers are part of the UNIFIL mission.

While the attack's perpetrators remain unidentified, Ghana's foreign ministry has formally protested to the U.N. in New York. The strike also traumatized another soldier and destroyed the officers' mess facility.
