In a major security breach, two media personnel and a boat driver were arrested for allegedly infiltrating the high-security area of Cochin Port Harbour to photograph an Iranian ship.
This vessel anchored as part of a diplomatic mission authorized by the Government of India for life-saving purposes. The arrests took place following a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Harbour police, citing unlawful entry into Southern Coil Berth.
The accused attempted to distribute the visuals, raising severe security concerns for both the nation and the state. The case falls under Section 329 (3) for criminal trespass and the Official Secrets Act, police said, as investigations continue.
