A senior police officer in Rajasthan lodged a formal complaint against a junior officer for allegedly making casteist remarks during an official meeting at the police headquarters. The complaint, filed under sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, involves SP Telecommunications Neetu Bugalia.
The incident took place on March 5 during a meeting chaired by V K Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime and Technical Services). The agenda was the upgradation of communication systems. Director of Police Telecommunications, Daulatram Atal, was reportedly interrupted during his presentation by Bugalia, who allegedly made comments about his promotion being due to reservation.
Atal expressed dissatisfaction over the disruptions and warned Bugalia about filing an FIR if the interruptions continued. Despite the warnings, Bugalia allegedly persisted, prompting the ADG to ask her to leave the meeting. The case is now under police investigation.
