The initiative seeks to boost public involvement in shaping the rural development program's branding, aligning with the vision for a developed India by 2047.
The contest invites creative designs echoing themes of rural growth and employment generation. The selected logo will feature in official and promotional contexts related to the Act, which promises 125 days of wage employment to rural households annually. The competition is part of the broader strategy to promote rural development and livelihood enhancement.
Amid criticisms from activists and opposition, the government asserts that the new Act improves upon the MGNREGA by increasing employment days and linking work with sustainable infrastructure development. Contest entries close on March 20, with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for the winning design.
