India Prioritizes Dialogue for West Asia Peace Amid Tensions

India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, emphasized dialogue and diplomacy as crucial for peace in West Asia. India has reiterated its call for dialogue and diplomacy to ensure peace in West Asia, as outlined by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Addressing the rising security concerns, Jaishankar emphasized that India's top priority remains the wellbeing of its citizens in the region.

Despite a tumultuous session, where opposition MPs clamored for an extensive debate on the issue, Jaishankar underscored the government's commitment to safeguarding national interests, particularly energy security and trade. The minister reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing vigilance and the collaborative efforts of pertinent ministries to ensure a robust response.

Jaishankar highlighted three guiding principles: a proclivity for peace, advocacy for de-escalation, and civilian protection. Amid intensifying conflicts, India advocates for the respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing diplomacy as a pathway out of the crisis.
