Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of Opposition, has publicly questioned the Odisha government's silence over the plight of thousands of Odias stranded in West Asia. As conflicts escalate, disrupted air connectivity has hampered evacuations, leaving many in distress.

Patnaik, a former five-time chief minister, expressed concerns via social media, urging the government to act swiftly to rescue Odia nationals, including laborers, students, professionals, and other travelers. He criticized the lack of urgency, calling for decisive action to ensure their safety.

Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia revealed that the Odisha government has successfully repatriated 158 Odias with assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs. However, many remain trapped, prompting further appeals for aid. The ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel exacerbates the situation, underscoring the need for prompt intervention.
