Businessman Kidnapping Foiled: Five Arrested in Daring Rescue

Police in Pune's Pimpri Chinchwad have arrested five men for allegedly kidnapping a businessman and demanding a Rs 50 lakh ransom. The suspects, from Uttar Pradesh, abducted the businessman in an SUV. After authorities were alerted, a coordinated police effort led to the victim's safe rescue and arrest of the culprits.

In a dramatic turn of events, Pune's Pimpri Chinchwad police have successfully arrested five individuals involved in the alleged abduction of a local businessman. The suspects, reportedly from Uttar Pradesh, demanded a hefty ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

The incident unfolded on Monday in the Rahatani area, where the businessman was forced into an SUV. Alerted by the victim's family, police swiftly assembled multiple teams to track down the kidnappers. The abductors called the businessman's family, threatening harm unless their demands were met.

Based on technical intelligence, law enforcement traced the suspects moving towards Uttar Pradesh. They effectively laid traps near Ale Phata and Sangamner, leading to the capture of the accused at a toll plaza. Two firearms, ammunition, and a car were seized. An accomplice, previously employed by the victim, allegedly aided the kidnappers. Authorities continue their investigation.
