In decisive operations across Jharkhand's Chatra and Palamu districts, police seized significant amounts of illicit substances, officials disclosed on Tuesday. Law enforcement disrupted a spurious liquor manufacturing setup in Chatra's Postiya village, detaining three individuals involved, according to Excise Superintendent Prem Prakash Oraon.

The crackdown followed a tip-off regarding the production of liquor under fraudulent branded labels. Although three suspects eluded capture, authorities confiscated liquor valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh. The illegal unit had reportedly been functional for four months, officials noted.

Separately, in Palamu district, law enforcement officers intercepted 4.530 kg of opium worth an estimated Rs 22.65 lakh, apprehending two individuals linked to the contraband. Police confirmed that FIRs have been filed in both cases.
