Delhi Budget 2026-27 to Spotlight Women Empowerment Initiatives

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has unveiled her government's focus on women empowerment in the forthcoming Budget 2026-27. Speaking at the 'Nari Utsav' held at the Nirmal Chhaya Complex, Gupta outlined initiatives aimed at the holistic empowerment of women and girls in the region.

The chief minister emphasized new schemes like 'Lakhpati Bitiya' and the 'Pink Saheli' smart card, which offers free bus travel for women. Additionally, she discussed expanding employment opportunities through self-help groups and promoting 'Mahila Haat' to enable women to market their products effectively.

Gupta inspected various facilities at Nirmal Chhaya, including homes for women and children. She also visited Sankalp Hub to assess ongoing initiatives under Mission Shakti, which focuses on safety, awareness, and empowerment of women in Delhi.
