A police inspector in Mangaluru has been suspended following the emergence of video and audio clips allegedly showing him engaging in inappropriate behavior with a woman, officials revealed. Despite the lack of a formal complaint from the woman in the footage, police have started an investigation based on the content's conduct implications.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy stated that previous complaints against the inspector by two other women are part of separate legal issues, unrelated to the surfaced material. The Commissioner's statement emphasized that the suspension was due to questionable conduct displayed in the clips, and assured the concerned parties that they could provide statements at a later time if they wish.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has requested an immediate report from the Mangaluru Police Commissioner to expedite action, further instructing the ADGP Law and Order to oversee the case. Additionally, Karnataka State Women's Commission's Chairperson, Nagalakshmi Choudhary, criticized the police's past responses to incidents involving women and highlighted the need for immediate, independent police action.
