Heightened Security Measures Set for Peaceful Eid Celebrations in Delhi's Tense Zones

In the lead-up to Eid-ul-Fitr, Delhi Police have implemented a series of enhanced security measures in Dwarka district, including rooftop surveillance and extensive barricading at more than 100 picket points. The decision comes amid heightened communal tensions following a fatal incident in March.

A senior Delhi Police officer confirmed that comprehensive plans are in place to guarantee peaceful celebrations, with special focus on areas like Hastsal village, where previous violence occurred. Law enforcement efforts include reinforced deployment in sensitive zones and strategic stationing at key points throughout the district.

Alongside physical precautions, digital surveillance has been intensified. Authorities are actively monitoring social media to detect and remove any inflammatory content. Meanwhile, flag marches and foot patrols continue as part of confidence-building measures in mixed-population and other sensitive areas.
