Arunachal Pradesh Police Save Trafficked Minors

Three minor girls were rescued by the Arunachal Pradesh police, suspected of being trafficked to Assam. A juvenile boy was detained for allegedly luring them via social media. The girls were safely reunited with their families after being traced and rescued near the Assam-Arunachal border.

In a significant breakthrough, the Arunachal Pradesh police successfully rescued three minor girls, suspected of being trafficked to Assam, and apprehended a juvenile boy involved in the case.

The girls, aged 12, 13, and 15, reportedly came into contact with the accused boy on social media. They fled their homes in response to his alleged lure and were later handed back to their families in Jollang near Itanagar, as confirmed by Itanagar Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar.

A robust search operation, backed by CCTV analysis under the Smart City surveillance system and bolstered by technical inputs, traced the missing girls to the Harmuti-Banderdewa area. They were rescued on March 31, just in time to prevent their further movement to Guwahati. The police have registered a case under various clauses of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita while advising parents to keep a vigilant eye on their children's online activities.
