In a proactive effort to curb illicit activities ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, an election flying squad intercepted the vehicle transporting DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi in Sivaganga district.
The Deputy General Secretary of the DMK was heading to campaign meetings when her convoy was halted at a checkpoint by the Flying Squad Team (FST) and Static Surveillance Team (SST). The teams conducted a comprehensive search of her vehicle and accompanying cars, according to sources.
The Election Commission has ramped up its monitoring efforts, deploying numerous flying squads. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to curb the movement of unaccounted cash and ensure compliance with electoral laws, especially as the 2026 Assembly elections draw near.
