Social media accounts allegedly operated from Pakistan fueled unrest among workers in Noida, according to Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh. The police have arrested 62 individuals connected to the protests demanding a wage hike in Noida.
Technical analysis of two specific social media accounts revealed their operation from Pakistan, via VPNs, with the intention to instigate public disorder. The police commissioner confirmed ongoing investigations into these account activities while emphasizing the aim to maintain law and order.
The agitation resulted in violence and damages, prompting police action under several legal statutes. However, with the situation now stable, Noida's industrial units have resumed operations normally, reinforced by increased security measures. The government responded by raising minimum wages and establishing a wage board for future evaluations.
