Authorities have apprehended four individuals connected to a significant interstate gold coin fraud, seizing over Rs 2 crore in cash and 678 gm of gold in the process, officials disclosed on Thursday.

Identified as orchestrating the scam is Solanki Prabhubhai Gulshanbhai, alias Kalpesh, a Vadodara resident recognized as the gang's leader. Other arrested members include Pankaj Sharma from Delhi, Manish Kamlesh Shah, and Ishwar Marwadi, both hailing from Vadodara, Gujarat.

Prabhubhai, notorious for his 25-year fraud career focusing on Mumbai and Gujarat, reportedly acquired Hotel PM on the Delhi-Mumbai Road using illicit gains. Such exploits include defrauding Bollywood figures. The gang primarily targeted educated individuals, deceiving them with fake gold coin deals, alongside masked labor identities. Investigations revealed existing fraud cases against Prabhubhai in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The ongoing investigation aims to capture additional gang members.
