Abducted Teen's Harrowing Year: Arrest Made in Gujarat

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Gujarat for allegedly abducting and raping a 17-year-old girl for nearly a year. Police rescued the minor and filed charges under various legal sections. The accused was presented in court and is under judicial custody for 14 days.

Police in Gujarat have apprehended a man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl over the past year. The suspect, Gyan Tiwari, was arrested following a complaint lodged by the victim's mother.

The teenager, originally from a village in the Chitbaragaon area, claimed that Tiwari kidnapped her last April and took her to Gujarat. Charges under multiple sections, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act, have been filed.

The arrested individual has been brought before a Ballia court and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days as the investigation continues.
