Iran announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for commercial traffic, a move welcomed by US President Trump, although the naval blockade remains until US-Iran negotiations are complete. This development is part of broader diplomatic efforts, including Pakistan’s role in mediating peace and hosting further talks between the US and Iran.

In a significant development, Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz open for commercial vessels, receiving approval from US President Donald Trump. However, the US naval blockade on Iran persists pending negotiation completion. This decision aligns with diplomatic strides following a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.
The announcement was made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who emphasized that vessels must adhere to pre-coordinated routes. This move coincides with discussions between Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Iranian leaders, aiming to de-escalate US-Iran tensions.
Meanwhile, diplomatic activities have ramped up, with Pakistan facilitating dialogue as part of a broader peace initiative. The second round of direct talks between US and Iran is anticipated soon, amid hopes of a comprehensive peace agreement, potentially fostering regional stability.
