A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Thursday as 24-year-old lawyer Priyanshu Srivastava tragically ended his life by leaping from the fifth floor of a court building. The young lawyer was immediately sent to Ursula Horsman Memorial hospital, but it was too late—doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The incident caused a stir, with hundreds of lawyers gathering in shock and disbelief at the courthouse. Police, led by Deputy Commissioner Satyajeet Gupta, cordoned off the area promptly. Gupta revealed that Srivastava had posted a two-page suicide note on his WhatsApp status just before taking the drastic step.
Said note outlined his personal struggles, including failing law exams, mounting family responsibilities, financial burdens, and mental distress due to his father's health, while requesting no harassment to his mother. The police seized his mobile phone for investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the premises in their ongoing probe.
