The Delhi Assembly has formally appointed the heads of its three pivotal financial committees, a move announced on Friday. BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar has assumed the role of chairman for the Committee on Public Accounts, while Raj Kumar Bhatia and Gajender Singh Yadav now head the Committees on Government Undertakings and Estimates, respectively. Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta emphasized the critical importance of these committees in upholding legislative accountability.

Gupta stated, "Financial committees form the backbone of legislative accountability, serving as the chief institutional authority through which the assembly meticulously examines public expenditure and administrative operations." He stressed their crucial function in ensuring transparency and maintaining fiscal discipline within the government framework.

In parallel to these significant appointments, Speaker Gupta attended the Malangiya Mahotsav, a cultural festival occurring from April 24 to 28 at Gandhi Darshan in Rajghat. The event celebrates the convergence of over 5,000 writers and theatre professionals from 22 Indian languages, showcasing 35 theatrical performances.
