Authorities arrested two individuals connected to a high-profile armed robbery at a doctor's home in Assam's Nagaon district. The attack left Dr. Ranjit Saikia stable but his wife Ruprekha critically injured. Their son was unharmed during the incident that took place in the early hours of Friday.
Police believe five people were involved in the attack and assert that significant investigative leads have been obtained. While officials remain tight-lipped, SSP Partha P Das expressed confidence that a significant breakthrough would soon occur, asking for public patience as the investigation unfolds.
Inspector General of Police Shivaprasad Ganjawala visited the crime scene, and forensic teams collected evidence. The family disclosed a previous theft at the same location and hinted at possible political connections, suggesting links to local Congress figures.
