Crackdown on Narcotics: 12 Kingpins Detained in Jammu & Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained 12 individuals involved in repeated drug peddling activities in Anantnag district. Booked under the NDPS Act, these narco kingpins were lodged in Subsidiary Jail Kehribal as part of a strategic crackdown to curb the illegal narcotics trade and protect public welfare.

In a significant move against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested 12 repeat offenders in Anantnag district under the NDPS Act. These individuals, known as narcotics kingpins, have been lodged in Subsidiary Jail Kehribal according to an official statement.

The officials have identified these detainees as habitual participants in the illegal drug trade. Despite previous actions, they continued their involvement, posing a severe risk to community health and safety, emphasized a police spokesman.

This strategic crackdown received approval from the competent Executive Magistrates, signaling a robust approach towards eradicating drug abuse and safeguarding public well-being.
