Tension filled the air as KSU protesters gathered on Monday outside the district Collectorate, demanding justice for the late Nithin Raj, a BDS student from Kannur.

The protest, orchestrated by the Congress-affiliated student wing, aimed to pressure authorities into arresting those allegedly responsible for Raj's death. KSU activists were detained after attempting to breach police barricades.

The situation arises after Raj's demise, following alleged caste-based harassment. Faculty members now face charges of abetment of suicide while police investigate additional claims involving a predatory loan situation.
