The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Natasha Verma, the Additional Director of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) in Meerut, and her Private Assistant in a bribery case, officials reported on Friday.

According to the CBI, Verma was implicated for demanding a bribe of Rs 80,000 to facilitate the transfer of a CGHS staff member from Moradabad to Meerut, acting on behalf of other officers. To catch them in the act, the CBI set up a trap.

During the operation, both Verma and her Private Assistant agreed to accept a reduced bribe amount of Rs 50,000. The Private Assistant was caught red-handed accepting the bribe, leading to their arrests by CBI officials, confirmed the agency's spokesperson.
