Tragedy in Jheelo Village: High Voltage Claims Lives of Elderly Couple

A tragic incident unfolded on Friday in Jheelo village, where an elderly couple lost their lives due to electrocution. The mishap was triggered by a high voltage current surge affecting several homes in the area, local police revealed.
The shock occurred around 6 pm, leading to electric boards and wires catching fire, explained SHO Rajesh Singh. Phulmati, aged 63, was the first victim, collapsing upon contact with the electrified entrance of her home. Her husband, Shriram, 65, met a similar fate as he rushed to save her.
Another victim, Indra Devi, 60, sustained burns from the incident and is receiving medical care. In response, authorities shut down the 11,000-volt line, with police advancing with a thorough investigation and sending the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
