The remains of two young children, victims of a tragic bomb attack in Manipur's Bishnupur district back in April, were returned to their family members on Saturday, officials confirmed. The children, a five-year-old boy and a six-month-old girl, had been in the morgue for 25 days due to the family's refusal to accept them without justice being served.

The deadly attack occurred on April 7 in Tronglaobi and has since ignited intense protests across Manipur's five valley districts. On April 25, Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh publicly urged the family to receive the bodies, pledging relentless efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.

As the children's remains were transported for their final rites earlier today, crowds gathered in Tronglaobi to pay their respects, with many lining the streets to offer floral tributes in a somber reflection of grief and solidarity. The case is now under the jurisdiction of the National Investigation Agency.
