The girls, one from Bihar and the other from Hamirpur, have become the focus of an investigation led by the Nadaun police. An FIR citing various legal provisions, including sections of the POCSO Act and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, has been filed against the accused.
The District Child Welfare Committee has already intervened, providing counseling for the girls. For their safety, they have been relocated to a One Stop Centre, a government-supported safe haven for women affected by violence, ensuring their protection during the ongoing legal proceedings.
