In a significant move to bolster road safety, Telangana's government is on the verge of launching a Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau. According to DGP C V Anand's announcement on Saturday, the bureau is expected to become operational imminently. A press release detailed the DGP's comprehensive review meeting with traffic officials.

The meeting, which involved Joint Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police under GHMC, assessed the current traffic situation in the city. Recent accidents on the Outer Ring Road prompted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to offer serious commands for enhanced safety measures, as noted by the DGP.

A directive has been issued to ensure speed control, strict compliance with traffic standards, and regular inspections to enforce rules. Special attention will be given to minimizing traffic stoppages during convoys, intensifying control measures, and cracking down on violations such as drunk driving and non-compliance with safety gear regulations.
