Major Drug Bust: Meth Tablets Worth Rs 38.7 Crore Seized Near India-Myanmar Border

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, authorities in Mizoram's Champhai district seized methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs 38.7 crore over two days, officials revealed on Sunday.
The first operation, conducted on Friday by a collaborative team of the Assam Rifles and state police, led to the recovery of 3.46 kg of meth tablets worth Rs 10.40 crore from Balukai at Crossing Point-II in Zokhawthar village near the India-Myanmar border. Officials reported this as a critical location for drug trafficking activities.
On Saturday, a subsequent operation at Melbuk Gate along the World Bank Road in Zokhawthar culminated in the seizure of 9.46 kg of meth tablets valued at Rs 28.38 crore. Security forces apprehended three individuals, including a Myanmar national, in connection with the bust. All confiscated drugs, the suspect's vehicle, and the individuals involved have been handed over to local police for further investigation.
