A man, Santosh Kumar, was arrested for allegedly strangling his wife, Neelam, to death with her scarf in a domestic altercation in Haryana's Shadipur village on Sunday night. The incident was reported by police officials on Tuesday.

After the alleged murder, Kumar reportedly roamed for two days with his two young sons, aged six and four, contemplating suicide, police sources revealed. Authorities were tipped off about his whereabouts and intercepted him before he could proceed with the plan.

The victim's body has been dispatched for a post-mortem examination, while forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene. Neelam was originally from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and further investigation by the police is ongoing.
