By amending the Delhi Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules, 2011, authorities have removed physical inspections for licence issuance, now opting for a self-declaration model. This strategic shift is designed to accelerate processes and reduce bureaucratic obstacles, according to Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

The reforms form part of the government's 'Deregulation Exercise 2.0', targeting redundant procedures across departments. Additionally, a fully digital mobile application is planned to streamline licensing services, marking a significant step towards transparency and efficiency for over 600 industry stakeholders.
