Tragedy Strikes: Nepalese Child Fatally Hit by Pickup in Kotkhai

A four-year-old girl from Nepal was tragically killed when a pickup truck allegedly ran over her in the Kotkhai area, police reported. The driver, identified as Sohil from Tapri village, has already been arrested.
The heartbreaking incident took place on Monday at Baghi Kainhi. Laxmi, the young victim, was crossing a road with her mother when the pickup, coming from the opposite direction, struck her. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.
Shimla's SSP Gaurav Singh confirmed that initial evidence points to negligence on Sohil's part. Charges under Sections 281 and 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, along with Section 25 of the Motor Vehicle Act 2019, have been filed.
