Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, has filed a fresh plea with a special CBI court in Mumbai, requesting permission to travel abroad while out on bail. Special CBI Court Judge J P Darekar began hearing her arguments, with further proceedings scheduled for May 6.

Earlier, the Supreme Court declined to entertain Mukerjea's plea for international travel, directing her to seek relief from the trial court. The apex court has instructed the CBI court to decide on her application within four weeks. Mukerjea's plea outlines her intention to visit Spain and the UK for pending bank-related tasks.

Indrani Mukerjea, arrested in 2015 following revelations about Bora's murder, was granted bail in May 2022. The case involves allegations of Bora's murder in a car by Mukerjea, her former driver, and ex-husband in April 2012. The body was reportedly burnt in a Raigad forest. All accused are currently on bail.
