The Jammu and Kashmir Police have initiated legal proceedings against the family members of Anantnag MLA Peerzada Mohammad Syed. The MLA's wife and son face allegations of unlawfully sealing a government healthcare facility.
The incident came to light when an FIR was lodged at the Achabal police station on Tuesday. Authorities accuse the Syed family of locking a hospital located in the Damhal Khosipora area, which reportedly resides in a structure provided by them back in 2008.
The MLA's family argues that the building's deteriorated state prompted a request for relocation of the health centre. Earlier this year, the MLA reached out to Anantnag's chief medical officer to discuss moving the center to a safer location.
