High Court to Hear Plea Against Rahul Gandhi

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court is set to hear a plea on May 12 regarding allegations against Rahul Gandhi of possessing disproportionate assets. The petition, filed by BJP worker S Vignesh Shishir, involves key government agencies as respondents and will address the maintainability of the plea.

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will convene on May 12 to hear a petition involving serious allegations against Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president and current Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The plea, urging a probe into Gandhi's alleged disproportionate assets, originated from BJP worker S Vignesh Shishir from Karnataka.

A bench of Justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Zafeer Ahmad will focus on the plea's maintainability at the upcoming hearing. The petition, officially submitted on April 25, has named several key entities as respondents, including the Central government, Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Uttar Pradesh Police, and the Director of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office.

The court, which initially addressed the matter on a previous date, is yet to upload its order to its website, although the case is scheduled for admission on May 12.
