The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu, has officially been registered with the Registrar of Societies. This marks a historic milestone for the legal entity, which has been functioning for 99 years without official registration.
The Association President, Nirmal Kotwal, declared it a significant day as it grants the legal body formal recognition, enabling access to various legal benefits and institutional support. Challenges faced by stakeholders due to the lack of registration are expected to be addressed following this development.
Plans to introduce welfare benefits for members, including group insurance schemes, were also announced. Furthermore, the Association stressed the importance of infrastructure development for young lawyers, urging the judiciary to support the construction of new workspace facilities.
