In 2024, Delhi again recorded the highest juvenile crime rate among India's metropolitan areas, as indicated by NCRB data. A total of 2,306 juvenile crime cases were reported, surpassing other major cities like Chennai and Bengaluru.

The city's child population was estimated at 55.4 lakh, with an alarming rate of 42 cases per lakh. Predominant crimes included theft, snatching, and more severe offences like murder and robbery. Crimes affecting the human body exceeded 500, while those against property neared 1,027 instances.

Additionally, 134 crimes against women and children, including 58 rape cases, were logged. Delhi's juveniles featured in 132 POCSO Act cases, showing a pressing need for interventions. Of the juvenile offenders, a significant portion lacked formal education, reflecting broader socio-economic issues.
