Two kids drown while bathing in dam in Jharkhand's Garhwa

Two kids drowned while bathing in a dam in Jharkhands Garhwa district on Thursday, police said. The incident happened at Harbaria dam under Meral police station limits, they said. Meral police station in-charge Vishnukant said both had gone to bathe in the dam.

Two kids drowned while bathing in a dam in Jharkhand's Garhwa district on Thursday, police said. The incident happened at Harbaria dam under Meral police station limits, they said. The deceased have been identified as Jainab Khatun (13) and Sohail Khan (16), both residents of Goverdaha village. Meral police station in-charge Vishnukant said both had gone to bathe in the dam. ''While bathing, Jainab started drowning. To save her, Sohail went deep into the water, and both drowned,'' he said, quoting villagers. Both bodies have been recovered with the help of local divers, he said. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination to Garhwa Sadar Hospital.
