Assocham organises symposium on healthcare, medical tourism
Assocham on Thursday organised the third edition of the Health, Beauty and Wellness Symposium 2026 here, bringing together policymakers, healthcare experts and industry leaders to discuss healthcare, preventive wellness and medical tourism. Assocham Haryana State Council Chairman Manav Gupta spoke about employment and investment opportunities in preventive healthcare, while its JK UT Council Chairman Manik Batra highlighted opportunities in health tourism and wellness infrastructure in northern India.
Assocham on Thursday organised the third edition of the Health, Beauty and Wellness Symposium 2026 here, bringing together policymakers, healthcare experts and industry leaders to discuss healthcare, preventive wellness and medical tourism. Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria attended the event as the chief guest and called for collective efforts towards building a TB-Free India and 'Nasha Mukt Punjab'. Addressing the gathering, Kataria appreciated industry body Assocham's support in Chandigarh's TB-Free initiative and urged stakeholders to help TB patients through awareness, nutrition and treatment support programmes. He also stressed the need for community participation to make Punjab drug-free. Assocham Chandigarh UT Development Council Chairman Rakesh Bhalla highlighted the growing importance of the health and wellness sector in innovation, economic growth and public well-being. Its Co-Chairman Drishmeet Singh Buttar stressed the need for stronger collaboration between industry and government to strengthen India's wellness ecosystem. Assocham Haryana State Council Chairman Manav Gupta spoke about employment and investment opportunities in preventive healthcare, while its J&K UT Council Chairman Manik Batra highlighted opportunities in health tourism and wellness infrastructure in northern India. Ayurveda expert Acharya Manish stressed preventive healthcare and holistic wellness. During the event, industry members were felicitated by the governor for their contribution to industry growth and social welfare initiatives. The symposium also featured three thematic sessions focusing on wellness policies and AYUSH integration, the role of AI and startups in preventive healthcare, and women's empowerment through leadership, entrepreneurship and health.
