110 lost mobile phones traced, returned to owners in Thane

Police have traced 110 lost mobile phones collectively valued at Rs 18.65 lakh and returned them to their owners in Maharashtra's Thane city, officials said on Sunday. These devices had been reported lost in the city's Kalwa area since last year. They were traced using technical surveillance and information on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, Kalwa police station's senior inspector Ashok Uttekar said. The mobile phones were subsequently returned to their original owners after a due verification process, he added.
